Hello and Welcome!
Welcome back to The Digital Minimalist (previously the Easlo Newsletter). Each week, I share actionable tips to stay productive in our cluttered and distracting world.
The law of diminishing returns.
As defined in an article by Investopedia, the law of diminishing marginal returns is a theory in economics that predicts that after some optimal level of capacity is reached, adding an additional factor of production will actually result in smaller increases in output.
There's always a "better" app or setup out there.
Customizing your home screen, using a new productivity app, or improving your Notion setup can indeed enhance your focus and help you manage your work and life more effectively.
If you start as a disorganized person with unwanted files and apps scattered everywhere, these strategies can help.
However, at some point, spending the same amount of time on further improvements yields diminishing returns. Yet, you might be tempted to keep optimizing because each change is technically "better."
The things we consume—from food to shoes to technology—are constantly trying to one-up each other to be slightly better. As consumers, we must be wary of over-optimizing for the sake of the "best," especially when what we currently have is already on par with the "best."
The hard truth is that what's often missing are internal factors, such as being more disciplined or better managing one's ego and emotions.
Tool of the Week: Notion-style Icons
As Notion super fans ourselves, we're thrilled to launch our Notion-style icons for Mac.
Sure, this doesn't make you more productive, but it does give your desktop a cohesive Notion vibe.
Is it just us, or does having things on theme give you peace of mind too?

Favourite Quote This Week:
“If you only do what you can do, you will never be more than who you are.”
Finding the balance between consistency in what we do and trying something new is not easy.
But for those of us who are getting too comfortable, it may be time to learn how to do what we can't do yet.
I hope you enjoyed this issue, and I will talk to you soon next week.
