Welcome back to Digital Minimalist, your guide to limiting distractions and using technology intentionally.
This week, we will learn how to turn off YouTube Shorts, discover some minimalist Mac menu bar apps, and redeem one year of premium for Pop Out Timer.
How to turn off YouTube Shorts

The YouTube app on iOS and Android now includes a new option that lets you set your Shorts feed limit to zero minutes.
This effectively prevents yourself from scrolling the Shorts tab.
Open YouTube and go to the Profile tab
Tap the gear icon to open Settings
Go to “Time management”
Enable “Shorts feed limit”
Set the limit to “0 minutes”

For minimalists, menu bar apps often feel like the perfect kind of software.
Most of the time, they stay quietly tucked away in your menu bar until you need them.
Here are a few simple menu bar apps worth trying on your Mac.

Pop Out Timer uses picture-in-picture to provide a floating timer that is always on screen.
The maker of Pop Out Timer reached out to thank us for previously featuring the app and kindly offered our readers one year of Pop Out Premium for free.
Use the link below to redeem the offer on the App Store.
If premium features do not unlock after redemption, try tapping "Restore Purchases" in the More tab of the app.
