Hello and Welcome!

Welcome back to The Digital Minimalist (previously the Easlo Newsletter). Each week, I share actionable tips to stay productive in our cluttered and distracting world.

3 tools I use to minimize internet distractions

The internet and social media aren't all bad when used intentionally.

You can learn new things on YouTube, connect with mentors on Twitter, and unlock opportunities like building a brand and audience online.

I'd like to share three tools that have helped me remain focused while using the internet for work.

1. Unhook for YouTube

Unhook is a browser extension that removes YouTube distractions, including the homepage, shorts, recommendations, and more.

Now every time I go to YouTube, I use the search bar to find what I need, choose a video, and that's it.

No more falling into the rabbit hole of comment sections or being tempted by recommended videos.

2. Minimal Theme for Twitter

Similar to Unhook, this browser extension helps you remove clutter and distractions, but for Twitter.

See this preview of before and after using Minimal Theme for Twitter.

You can eliminate promoted posts, suggestions, and any unwanted elements from the left navigation.

3. Arc Boosts

Arc is a browser that comes with a feature called Boost, which allows you to edit and customize the look of a site.

My favorite part is the Zap feature, which lets you click on a component or section of a website and hide it. I use these on top of the above extensions and other websites to hide anything else that might be a distraction.

Tool of the Week: One Sec

One Sec is a mobile app and browser extension I recently installed on my devices.

One Sec

It introduces a brief pause to prevent you from mindlessly start scrolling through social media.

You can find my full thoughts and review of One Sec below.

Favourite Quote This Week:

“Change is nature. The part that we can influence. And it starts when we decide.”

Ratatouille

I can’t wake up early. I can’t stay off social media. I can’t stop procrastinating.

Don’t let your past define who you are.

All of these habits can change.

I hope you enjoyed this issue, and I will talk to you soon next week.
